Plugable USB 2.0 10/100 Ethernet Adapter

  • “This adapter worked great on Windows 7. Just plug it in, and about 2 minutes later you’re on the network. ” – Scott V Warner, DES MOINES, NM
  • “It was very very very easy to setup. No software drivers were needed. I just powered off the Wii (Red Power Light) connected the USB LAN Adapter to the Wii, configured a Wired connection, and it worked.” – T. BUFORD, NORCROSS, GA
  • “…it worked without a hitch or me lifting a finger. Great product, highly recommended.” – Michael Schilli, San Francisco, CA

Description

Providing Fast Ethernet connectivity over USB, the Plugable USB 2.0 to 10/100 Network Adapter has a compact external design and wide compatibility with its ASIX AX88772 chipset. Two LEDs monitor power and link activity. Support for this adapter built in to Nintendo Wii and Wii U(no driver required). Wired Ethernet via this adapter provides faster and more reliable Netflix streaming, game downloads, and network access than the Wii’s built-in wireless networking (up to 2-3x as fast). 32/64-bit drivers for Windows 10, 8.x, 7, XP. Drivers built into Linux kernel 2.6.35 and higher. Mac OS 10.6-10.11 supported.

Common Uses

  • Add an additional network interface to any Windows, Mac, or Linux computer via a simple USB adapter
  • Improved connectivity speed vs. computers currently connected over WiFi/802.11 wireless networks
  • Add wired network ability to tablets, phones, and Chromebooks which have built-in wireless only

Features

  • Add a wired network connection to your Windows, Mac, or Linux system.
  • Linux: Drivers built into kernel 2.6.35 and higher.
  • ChromeOS: Drivers built into the latest update.
  • Compatible with all Wii and Wii U consoles, no driver required
  • Full 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet performance over the USB 2.0 480 Mbps bus
  • Powered through the USB connection; no power cord needed
  • RJ-45 network port connects to any 10/100 Mbps network
  • Widely used and widely compatible ASIX AX88772 chipset

Driverless Support
Works using in-built drivers (no software install required) on

  • Chromebook systems running latest updates (Chrome OS)
  • Supported Android devices (see compatibility list below)
  • Nintendo Wii/Wii U/Switch

Installing Drivers

  • On Windows 10, 8.1 and 8 systems, the driver is built in. Just plug in the USB side of the adapter. Windows will setup the driver for the first time.
  • On Windows 7 systems with Windows Update enabled, just leave the network cable connected to a different network adapter (so Windows Update can be reached) or enabling Wifi and just plug in the USB side of the adapter. Windows will look for the best driver.
  • On Mac OS X 10.7 through 10.12 system, drivers are built-in and need not be downloaded.
  • Drivers for many platforms (including Windows 7 or older, Mac, Linux, Windows CE, etc.) are available for download. The complete list of drivers and supported platforms for the AX88772 chip in the Plugable USB2-E100 is available on the ASIX AX88772 driver download page.
  • Or use the drivers from the included CD-ROM. Please download and update to the latest driver after connecting to the Internet.

Android compatibility

Some Android devices include drivers for our device, however each device maker includes different drivers. Unlike Windows, Mac, or Linux, users cannot install any device driver to Android. If the Android device does not have a pre-installed device driver for the AX88772 chip set, this adapter cannot work.

Most Android systems have a microUSB port instead of a standard full-sized USB port. In this case, instead of this product, please consider using the Plugable USB2-OTGE100 Ethernet adapter. It has the same AX88772 chip set but features a microUSB connector.

FAQ

Q. Does this Ethernet adapter work with Windows 10?
A. Yes, Windows 10 has built-in the device driver for this adapter.

Q. What do the green and amber LEDs on the Plugable USB2-E100 indicate?
A. The green power LED on the Plugable USB2-E100 is an indication that the Ethernet cable plugged into the adapter is live and it stays steady as long as the live cable is plugged in. The blinking amber link LED is an indications that data is transferring through the adapter.

Both these LEDs will not light up when:
1) The adapter is not receiving enough power because it is plugged into a port that does not provide the required 500mA of power
2) The drivers for the adapter have not installed properly or is corrupted
3) The Ethernet Cable plugged in is not live or is faulty
4) The adapter has failed

Q. I feel this adapter is getting warm when using.
A. The chip set AX88772 has been used for years and widely adapted to various devices, hence this adapter is compatible with various PC Operating Systems and many consumer devices.
Our adapters get warm because the AX88772 converts the 5 volts that are used in the logic chips to the much lower voltage used for Ethernet. The excess voltage is dissipated as heat. Since the chip is designed for this, the heat doesn’t cause it any troubles. Unless it gets very hot, it’s normal that the unit is getting warm.

Q. Are there any known software conflicts?
A. For Mac users, there is a known conflict with the Android File Transfer Program.

Switch to gutenberg-Blocks!
There the JSON Content Importer Block gives an easier way to use the JSON-APIs.
Or: Switch on the Debugmode by adding "debugmode=10" in the Shortcode.

We have a Problem with JSON here:
Either we got no JSON from the API. Or the basenode-parameter is not ok.
